Dallis, I’m always hugely grateful for all the uploads you do. That’s what the duplicate five stars are for.
So, I downloaded books 1 to 4 and have read book 1.
For the main character (David aka the Commodore), the author has copied Paul Hogan’s Crocodile Dundee persona. Twenty odd years ago, when the movie came out, this character was amusing in a limited way. The sequels showed that it also had a very short shelf life.
(There may’ve been some ancient Monty Pythonesque portrayal of Australians mixed in too)
This persona became more and more irritating to me as I read on. I persevered to the end of book 1 and tried to force myself to start book 2, but I just couldn’t do it.
There are many other ‘issues’ with both the scenario and supporting characters, that the author creates, but I’ll not spoil the books for others.
If you’ve enjoyed these books, fair enough and lucky you. We;ll have to agree to disagree.

Thanks Dallis, brilliant upload, Just to correct Max001 about David aka the Commodore, he is actually called Steven and the biggest problem I have with these books is that the term Da for Father is actually an Irish one, pretty sure the Australians do not use that. Other than that, great series, hope it hasn’t offended too many Australians tho and that Mr Ringo realises that Thomas is a TANK engine not a TRAIN engine
