Book by Churchill may be interesting, and they do provide his personal perspective of event.
However, a great deal of secret material has been released since Churchill wrote his books.
I have found that reading the more current books from leading historians specializing on World War II gives me a better, and probably more accurate, understanding of events.

Acanthrohu, I totally agree. There’s so much that came out 50 years after Churchill’s death for instance. The fact that the Brits and Americans disagreed fundamentally on invading Europe at all was mind blowing to read after 30 years of previous reading on the topic.
