Great book.. Peter outlines some scary consequences of the coming disintegration of the Bretton Woods derived global order. Geography and demographics will determine each nations fate as they have to rely more on themselves for international trade.

No. Oil made that happen. Another econ 101 disciple who does not understand the primacy of oil (energy).
Every adult in the US could have an IQ of 160 but without the oil there is no American empire.
Climate change is going to kill most or all of the humans before this century is out. I would not put any faith in puny human plans.

apnea: Oil is meaningless without US Naval protection, that Oil would not get anywhere past the many countries that would want their cut (thru their waterways) or confiscation until their geopolitical needs are met. Bretton Woods US led order forced a safe naval trade passage for Oil/Goods
