A groundbreaking new history of the role of American servicewomen in WWII, illuminating their forgotten yet essential contributions to the Allies’ victory.
Valiant Women is the story of the 350,000 American women who served in uniform during World War II. These incredible women served in every service branch, in every combat theater, and in nearly two-thirds of the available military occupations at the time.
They were pilots, codebreakers, ordnance experts, gunnery instructors, metalsmiths, chemists, translators, parachute riggers, truck drivers, radarmen, pigeon trainers, and much more. They were directly involved in some of the most important moments of the war, from the D-Day landings to the peace negotiations in Paris. These women—who hailed from every race, creed, and walk of life—died for their country and received the nation’s highest honors. Their work, both individually and in total, was at the heart of the Allied strategy that won World War II.
Yet, until now, their stories have been relegated to the dusty shelves of military archives or a passing mention in the local paper. Often the women themselves kept their stories private, even from their own families.
Now, military analyst Lena Andrews corrects the record with the definitive and comprehensive historical account of American servicewomen during World War II, based on new archival research, firsthand interviews with surviving veterans, and a deep professional understanding of military history and strategy.

Yea, I mean, I 160k of those 350k were reserves, 75k nurses, 1k pilots. But they definitely surely weren’t only at the heart of the war (despite more men being killed than the totality of serving women) but the 12 million active men were all in pristinely cleaned shelves.
What an embarrassing book. I can’t wait for the Trans Alliance Ukraine Manifesto (surely voice recorded in a Starbucks halfway across the world) to explain how “women” (the quotations are merely a representation of the still unavailable definition) bravely stood their ground and defended their homeland, and definitelly didn’t take the chance to bolt to the borders while the incredibly useless, happinstance men (that were dragged from their houses and banned from leaving under promise of arrest, oh and torture);.
God bless the women, winners of all wars. But also the sensisble wars that hate all of them and refuse tie participate.

While real achievements of women are to be admired, when it is used to take away the sacrifices/roles of men of that time or of today it is cruel and unusual, and in the tone of current times, it is probable it is being used in that way. I question the ethics of all world wars, but at the same time one needs to balance ones own bias and upset, because the marxists/left will just call you an incel/woman-hating bigot etc, and you want to highlight the issues with Marxist-rooted feminism without falling into their well-placed defensive trench-line of ‘misogyny’, which will make even other men fall in line to defend them, it is ingenious in its construction.
